Okra also called as Lady’s Finger is a spiny herb plant that grows up to 2 meters high. Its leaves are long-stalked angular shape that bears a single flower that has pale yellow in color.

Boiling the leaves until it softens and use as a decoction for the illnesses like pneumonia and bronchitis. Taking a tea from its flowers and the fruit is prepared by decoction with a little honey is also effective for the same disease.

Extracting the essence of the root of the Lady’s Fingers by boiling it is also great for inflamed mucous membrane of the urethra and vagina, sexually transmitted diseases and other genital problems.

The seeds of the okra is also effective for heart diseases. Roasted seeds and making it to a tea, four up to five glasses is already good enough for the day.

Unripe fruit of the Lady’s Fingers can also be used for pulmonary tuberculosis.
