INDIAN BEECH – BLOOD PURIFIER AND CURE EARACHE

PONGAMIA PINNATA PIERRE
Pongamia pinnata (L.) Pierre also known as Pongamia glabra or Indian Beech is a handsome tree that normally grows along rivers and streams. The leaves of Indian Beech is place alternately and imparipinnately compound. The leaves have 5 to 9 leaflets and ovate-oblong in shape. The flowers are white or purplish papilionaceous and found in axillary racemes. The seeds inside the pod is kidney like shape.

Medicinal Use of Pongamia Glabra:

  • Indian bleech removes the worm from the body, curing opthalmia or illness of the eye. It also helps the problem of the vagina and the skin; for tumours, piles, wounds, ulcers, itching, ascites or accumulation of the liquid in the abdominal cavity, enlargement of the spleen and the abdomen and congestion of the liver.
  • Pongamia pinnata helps strengthening and giving tone of the stomach, it also acts an appetizer and checks inflammations, oedema and toxicosis or poisons.
