Sida rhombifolia Linn |
The flowers are yellow and they occur singly in the axils of the leaves. The calyx is green and the plant grows usually in a tropical country.
Medicinal Uses of Yellow Barleria:
- Effective for heart problems and pulmonary diseases.
- Cures toothaches.
- Recommended for fevers, abdominal pain, rheumatism, constipation, indigestion, bronchitis, and asthma.
- It also cures ulcers, boils, cuts and swellings, and any virus disease that causes inflammation of the skin.
- Effective for insect bites including bee and wasp stings.
How to Use the Sida Rhombifolia:
- For the heart problems and pulmonary diseases, the infusion of the leaves is recommended.
- The decoction of the root of the yellow barleria is used in gargles for toothache.
- Making a tea out of the plant is good for fever, abdominal pain, rheumatism, constipation, indigestion, bronchitis and asthma.
- Decoction of the bark is recommended for fever and abnormal stoppage of the menses.
- Externally used, the poultice of the whole plant can be applied topically on ulcers, boils, swellings, cuts, abdominal complaints and any inflammatory virus disease of the skin.
- The crushed root mixed with ginger relieves toothache.
- The flowers of the yellow barleria can be applied over insect bites, including bee and wasp stings.
