Sida rhombifolia Linn
Yellow Barleria also known as Sida rhombifolia Linn is a wild growing perennial and sturdy plant. The leaves are alternate, rectangular, lanceolate and serrate in shaped, it also has dark green color. 

The flowers are yellow and they occur singly in the axils of the leaves. The calyx is green and the plant grows usually in a tropical country.

Medicinal Uses of Yellow Barleria:

  • Effective for heart problems and pulmonary diseases.
  • Cures toothaches.
  • Recommended for fevers, abdominal pain, rheumatism, constipation, indigestion, bronchitis, and asthma.
  • It also cures ulcers, boils, cuts and swellings, and any virus disease that causes inflammation of the skin.
  • Effective for insect bites including bee and wasp stings.

How to Use the Sida Rhombifolia:

  • For the heart problems and pulmonary diseases, the infusion of the leaves is recommended.
  • The decoction of the root of the yellow barleria is used in gargles for toothache.
  • Making a tea out of the plant is good for fever, abdominal pain, rheumatism, constipation, indigestion, bronchitis and asthma.
  • Decoction of the bark is recommended for fever and abnormal stoppage of the menses.
  • Externally used, the poultice of the whole plant can be applied topically on ulcers, boils, swellings, cuts, abdominal complaints and any inflammatory virus disease of the skin.
  • The crushed root mixed with ginger relieves toothache.
  • The flowers of the yellow barleria can be applied over insect bites, including bee and wasp stings.
