Abrus precatorius also commonly known as
Crab’s Eye is an annual twiner up to 9 meters long. The leaves are in pinnate arrangements.
Medicinal Use of Crab’s Eye:
Abrus precatorius is good for chronic conjunctivitis or inflammation of the mucous membrane that connects to the eyeball and inner eyelid.
Ways to use the Abrus precatorius:
Crushing the seeds of the crab’s eye to obtain the juice and prepared in the proportion of 1:100 (one part of the juice and 100 parts of water) and applied on the eyelid in the case of chronic conjunctivitis or inflammation of the mucous membrane.
Caution When Using the Crab’s Eye:
Crab’s eye seeds are poisonous and it must be taken internally and very dangerous to the children. In case of external application it must not be too frequent because it may have a reversal of the inflammation of the eyelid.
