Rangoon Creeper
Rangoon Creeper​ also known as Chinese honeysuckle or with its botanical name Combretum indicum is a climbing shrub that grows from 7 up to 15 cm. It is a vine plant that can reach from 2.5 up to 8 meters. It has an opposite, oblong and rounded base shape leaves. The flowers tubular, in cluster and white to reddish-purple color. The fruits of the Rangoon creeper are like the coconut taste. It usually found in Asia but it also can be found in other part of the world as cultivated ornamental or run wild plant.

Medicinal Use of Combretum Indicum:

  • Boiling and extracting the juice from the root, seed or fruit can be used to remove parasitic worms from the body and can help alleviate diarrhea.
  • Decoction of the fruit of Rangoon Creeper can be used as a gargle.
  • The fruits can cure the inflammation of the kidneys.
  • The leaves of the Chinese honeysuckle can be used as pain reliever caused by fever.
