Castor plant
also called as Ricinus Communis is a coarse, erect, branched, woody bush that grows up to 4 meters high. This plant usually found in tropic area but it is most common in India. The fruit is a spiny capsule shape that split into three one-seeded parts when it dry. Crushing the seeds to obtain the oil are smooth and glossy with grey and brown patches.

Medicinal Use of Ricinus Communis:

Ways to Use the Castor Plant:

  • The bark is used as a dressing for ulcers and sores.
  • Poultice of the leaves can be used for skin diseases, ulcers, wounds and boils.
  • Externally apply pounded leaves help rheumatism and headaches.
  • The oil from the seeds is used for inflamed eyes.
  • 2 to 3 drops of castor oil in the ears can prevent the buildup of hard or dry wax.
  • Dabbing of castor oil several times a day, the warts will slowly disappear.
